LT-Image - The Second Maneuver

Today we have some great news for you that owns a Dreambox 7025...finally, after long hours and much hard work, we feel that it is time to release The Second Maneuver from the LT Team. For this release, we have worked very hard to really fulfill most of the requests and suggestions we have seen on various boards, as well as on our own board: LT Team () (If you have not registered already...hurry there to get the latest from the LT Team.) We have had a strong focus on killing all known bugs and really tried to get as high quality as possible, let's hope our effort has been successful..
New features

- Enigma2 CVS from 2007-06-29
- Stream2Dream - The revolutionary Stream for PC to DB built in! Make sure to get the Windows XP executable as well...
- LTQuickButton - Easy configurable Blue button function.
- Changed the menu tree to have EMU-features as easy access.
- EazyZapBar - (Small light weight Infobar when zapping...if you want more info...press OK and the normal Infobar will come).
- LTMenu not "static" anymore...i.e. the skins can fully control the main menu.
- BlackBox - A new skin!
- ChannelSelection screen ê la Enigma1 with more info.
- CCcam-Infos in the InfoBar.
- A new Skin selector.
- MOTD signal. When there is a new MOTD available...a signal on screen.
- Check space (and possibly show) before install of addon's and image update.

Install
-------
This release contains so much new stuff that we have decided not make this available through our online update service. We think it might be too risky and we therefore want you to do a clean flash install with this image. Remember to backup all your data...through one of the LT Backup scripts perhaps?
Also, we are not at all testing the image through multi boot so we have NO idea if it works or not. We do recommend you NOT to run through a multi boot tool to to get the most stable environment. Also, we are NOT interested in bug reports from images run from multi boot...sorry, but we have to stay to one environment only.
So...well, let's hope you enjoy the new major release from LT...also, please remember that we only do this for ourselves and it is our hobby so have some patience with us and treat us fair! We have seen some use of the LT code put into other images we do not support nor like this type of action, and will not suport sites that allow their members to do this, we feel that the best way to enjoy the LT Image is to....simply use the LT Image...and remember, it is for free!

The LT Image does not contain any EMU's and all the patches we have done to the CVS code is included with full source code in the image. Our own code (non-patched) is however kept as compiled only.

We have some new great news for you running LT SM images...we have now released a small update that is available through Software Update in the LT Menu.

NOTE! Make sure to have at least 1.5MB free FLASH before doing this update!!!

LT - The Third Challenge

Great news! We are finally back with a new image, The Third Challenge. This time we have many new improvements in store for you. The most obvious one is that we have now moved to the OpenEmbedded 1.5 version with the new flash file system...this gives you around 8MB free flash after install! Great work DMM!

There are many totally new features as well as many small bug fixes and updates. This list will summarize some of our changes:

Another great day for LT users. We have now managed to improve the LT Third Challenge with updates from the CVS, bug-fixes and the newest drivers from DMM. Make sure backup all your important data before you rush to the update function in LT.

- AC3 sync fix for playback (i know this causes some trouble on RTL AC3 streams, I'm still working on that)

LT - The Fourth (R)evolution

well...that was a nice reception we got of the preview video for LT4 - The Fourth (R)evolution...actually so great that we replanned the release to be today instead of later this weekend... We have so many people waiting for it that long, can we?

This time we have many new improvements in store for you. We have worked very very hard on this, and we feel that this is the image where we actually have added many new features, never seen on a dreambox before. Of course we have worked very hard to kill as many bugs as possible and make this image as stable as possible. We hope that this "extra beta month" has paid off well and you will enjoy it.

Here is a list that will summarize some of the new features:
* Brand new MediaCenter! You have seen it on the video...now go and test it!
* Online Video-player!!! Yes..it is true! Browse Google Videos, Youtube, on your DB and just play em...done through the MediaCenter and the LTStream2Dream tool!
* NRTR - "NO-RESTORE-TO-REFLASH"....keep the settings on CF card without need to backup when reflashing...
Stay tuned for more info!
* Lowered the total memory consumption of Enigma2! We have changed how E2 loads the skin's and that has turned out very well. This patch has been submitted to DMM and hopefully will be included in CVS soon.

Some of the major changes include:

This image is stretching the specs of the good old 7025 quite heavy so it is strongly recommended to setup a SWAP-file of at least 32MB on a CF card as soon as possible. We have worked hard on decreasing memory usage (see skin-loading-patch above) to make this as stable as possible...but we strongly advice you to use a SWAP-file for best experience.

LT - The Fifth Campaign DM7025

We have noticed that the PiG renderer on the DM800 is somewhat slow. A workaround is to use the normal 16:9 skin-version. It will hopefully be fixed in future release.

LT EPG Grabber:

How it works:
- Grabs from XMLTV sources or the RadioTimes web site.
- Configurable in config files: /usr/lib/enigma2/python/LT/EpgGrabConfig
- Create new config files and put here if you like. Please share these so we can add good ones to DL server etc.
- Can manually grab from GUI or set a crond task to grab. (Don't set grab time to 01:01...problems when rebooting...)
- If enabled, the "Transport Stream EPG data" is unavailable...currently does not work at the same time. Work on this is going on...
- Always need an E2 reboot after a new grab. This is done automatically or in the GUI. This means, select a grab-time when you do not watch TV...

Features:
- Grabs all "nordic channels" for Sweden etc. (up to 5 days)
- Can grab Sky-channels (up to 14 days!!!) from RadioTimes
- Can grab german channels from tvprofil.net (up to 5 days)
- Create new grab-configs for grabbing from any XMLTV source...

Hi LT Users.
We have a small update so you can have the new secondstage with the anti-freeze fix. This should solve the freezing when watching HD channels. Of course we updated Enigma2 to newer code at the same time so you all with dm7025 also will have some fun with a newer image.

For dm800, the secondstage is like the BIOS os of your computer so unless you have done the standalone update already you have to put this image into flash to be sure you get latest secondstage into the box.

Hey LT fans,
now it's time for our last service pack for the image LT The fifth Campaign.

General note:
Barry Allen is a great tool for the experienced Dreambox user but it is also the source of much problem for the inexperienced Dreambox user.
LT Team has only tested the image in flash and if you are using Barry Allen and have some problems then install the image in flash. If the
error is still exist after installing the image in flash then send us the crashlog which is created on harddisc.

No error reports will be read if image is used with Barry Allen!

Barry Allen & LT:
This usual problem with using BA is that the drivers & kernel are usually loaded from the image in flash. This means that if you do not have the same drivers in a flash image as the one you are booting using BA you will end up in a non-tested (and non-supported) configuration.
Also, the LT image has tweaked the early boot process and this might be effected by using a tool such as BA.
However, the Barry Allen is a great tool and if it works for you we are very happy!


DM7025
The image is now pushing the hardware to the limits (and little beyond) so to make all functions to work as intended you have to install
a Compact Flash so you can create a swapfile on it. We have notice several issues which a swapfile will solve.
Also before installing the image if you are upgrading please remove the epg_external.dat if you are using LTEPG and activate swap as first
thin you do after installing the image.

We also recommend that you on dm800/8000 insert a USB Stick in lower slot and creates a swapfile for the Dreambox.

If you follow the notes above you will be just as us, a happy Dreambox owner.

Yes, we still been busy and not finished LT6 image but DMM has been productive and developed lots of things so we thought that we at least could do a little upgrade on LT5 for all of you users.
For LT part we have only followed some changes from Enigma2 into our LT code and restored our default settings which we managed to remove somehow...
Otherwise this image has followed all changes in Enigma2 and OE done by DMM.

Monday, 23 November 2009 Since we made a descision of not make any LT6 for the dm7025 since to get it working we had to modify so much. Instead we made a sp9 for dm7025 of LT5 as "The end" for LT on this platform. Yes, you can start whine in forums but as it is now descion is final.

Note, you must have a swapfile on CF or you will suffer from BSOD sooner or later due to "Out of memory". Do not use a US Stick since USB does not work well on dm7025.

What we have done on sp9 is only update Enigma2, drivers and secondstage. Also we had to remove some GL.II skin parts and use default_skin to avoid some BSOD, we had not time to make new screens.

Hopefully we managed to sort out all BSOD from the image since this time it was not that hard tested.

LT6½ OE1.6 for DM7025 released (LT revision 3430) - aka LT Six and a half!
REQUIEM FOR…a Dream!!!

Lately things became very hard for most of us in the LT Team regarding personal issues that prevent us from focusing to our main purpose regarding the SAT scene, which is out beloved LT image. We have done too much progress regarding the changes, and the transition from LT5th Campaign to the LT6th Sense was almost flawless. New updates were going public with the use of the Service Packs and bugs that were not revealed during the beta testing era, where eliminated after all. However and apart from our problems, each and every one of us is trying to do its best to keep this "idea" alive and make the Sat community and especially our supporters as happy as possible.
This was supposed to be LT7 but the thing called real life struck us hard, very hard... We then did the best of the situation and here is LT6½ image. It is a LT6 but updated with latest Enigma2 and OE 1.6. LT7 is postponed for the near future till our beloved head graphics designer Nemesis is back. LT7 will have the same structure as LT6½ but with the addition of a new/enhanced skin. Till then…sit back and enjoy our beloved image…
