Howto Backup a Flash IMG (DM7020)

Here is a howto Backup a Flash-IMG for DM7020.

First Download NFI-Backup.rar ()
. Unpack the 3 files to PC

(buildimage, build-nfi-image.sh, mkfs.jffs2)

1.Turn your box in standby push 1 time on the small red l button on the remote control .


2.Start up a Ftp program ( DCC illustrrated here) Press FTP


3.Go to /usr/bin Locate the 3 files onyour PC (buildimage, build-nfi-image.sh, mkfs.jffs2,..right side) Copy the files to /usr/bin


4. Right click on the files (buildimage, build-nfi-image.sh, mkfs.jffs2) and choose Attributes and Enter 755------>OK



5. Now log on with telnet (if you use DCC, just press theTelnet buton.
Then you type (Dont type ("enter") but press the enter buton)

cd / ("enter")
cd usr ("enter")
cd bin ("enter")
build-nfi-image.sh /media/hdd ("enter")




6. As you can see a Backup-IMG is stored in HDD, now just press the FTP buton.


7. Now enter /media/hdd and there you will find backup-image.nfi you can now send it to the PC.


Now you should have a Backup-IMG of the Flash Image from your box .
